Skyscrapers grow out of historic colonial era districts near the port, but the modern metropolis proudly keeps its old-world charm. Visit the famous Pettah bazaar, the Hindu and Buddhist temples known as the Gangarama and Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil, as well as some of the city’s residential areas.
