Experience:

You will be starting your tour from Sigiriya at 4:45 am to 6:00 am, just as the sun starts to rise. If you stay at a hotel in a nearby city, you will receive a pickup to the starting point.

The times may differ according to the location of the hotel where you are staying. Hot air balloons were the first successful human-flight technology and have been around since the late 18th century. Your hot air balloon ride will take you on a soothing flight over the Kandalama and Dambulla areas. You will be afforded marvelous views of the sunrise and the brightening landscape below. Your pilot will point out important landmarks such as the Kandalama Tank, the Golden Buddha statue, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and many others. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes with a cap or hat. For the rest of your attire, comfortable casual clothes work best. However, it may get slightly colder at higher altitudes, so bringing a light sweater or scarf may be advisable. Your flight will last between an hour and an hour and a half, depending on the wind directions and where you will be landing.
