Day 1 Ho Chi Minh Arrival Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, after clearing all customs procedures, please proceed to the exit gate and look for your driver, who will be waiting in the lobby, holding the signboard with your name on it. If you cannot locate your driver, please go to the airport information counter situated in the middle of the domestic and international arrival lobby (inside the terminal) and call the emergency numbers provided by your travel advisor for assistance. Your driver will come to meet you and transfer you to the hotel for check-in and free at leisure. Day 2 Mekong Delta Exploration (B/L) (Join a group tour) The Mekong Delta is one of the most important regions of Vietnam, which supplies rice and fruits for the entire country. This is why the Mekong Delta is also called the "rice bowl" of Vietnam. Exploring the maze of mangrove-lined riverways and visiting the local workshops and gardens will be a highlight of your holiday and will show you the countryside life of Southern Vietnam. Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the pick-up between 7:30 and 8:00 am (we will confirm the exact time the day before the tour). Hop on the shuttle bus and make your way to My Tho. Upon arrival, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, which dates back to the late 19th century. Then board the sampan and cruise down the river around beautiful river islands. Have a stop on one of the islands to have a walk and explore the country lines and visit the orchards, where you can taste the tropical fruits while enjoying the folk music performance. Get back to the sampan to cruise through the Thoi Son canal and soak in the beauty of the countryside. Stop at another village to visit the local workshop to see how the coconut candies are made and see the honeybee farm. Treat yourself to honey tea and candies and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Have lunch in the local restaurant and have some rest. In the afternoon, it's time for a cycling trip around Tan Thanh village to observe the local lifestyle. If you are not keen to cycle, you can relax in the hammock or just walk around the village. Then return to Ho Chi Minh; the approximate arrival time is 17:30. Day 3 Ho Chi Minh Sightseeing and Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L) (Join a group tour.) Former Saigon is a modern city and the economic heart of Vietnam. At the same time, it has a bright history full of glorious and tragic moments. Today, you will step back in time and learn about colonial and Vietnam War times. The tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby between 7:30 and 8:00 (we will send you the exact time the day before the tour). Spend the morning visiting the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, constructed on the site of the former Norodom Palace. The Independence Palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City that used to be the residence of the president of South Vietnam and was an important site of the Fall of Saigon. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French colonial times, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office. In the end, visit the War Remnants Museum, which has a vast display of both Indochina wars. Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for the Cu Chi tunnels; the trip will take approximately one and a half hours. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will watch the introduction video showing how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of wartime. Spend your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems. The maze of tunnels included living areas with kitchens and bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centres. Besides, there are many hidden trapdoors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterwards, special tea and cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war) will be served. You will be back in Ho Chi Minh around 19:00. Day 4 Ho Chi Minh - Travel to Hoi An (B) You will be picked up at your hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel in Hoi An for check-in and free time. Day 5 Hoi An Fishing, Boating and Cooking (B/L) (Join group tour) Discover the authentic lifestyle of the locals in Hoi An's countryside and spend an amazing time in the idyllic villages. Meet your guide around 8:30 am (we will confirm the exact time the day before the tour) and head to the local food market to experience shopping like a local and buy the ingredients for your lunch. Then head to the Cam Thanh eco-village and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while you wander around. Then hop on the unique Vietnamese basket boat and cruise down the river through the palm forest to your next venue for fishing. After the fishing experience, get back to the village and learn how to cook Vietnamese meals, which you will have for lunch. Have some rest after lunch and get back to your hotel around 13:00. Day 6 Hoi An - Travel to Hanoi (B) You will be picked up at your hotel lobby and transferred to Danang airport for your flight to Hanoi. Day 7 Hanoi City Sightseeing (B/L) (join a group tour) 8h00–8h30: Our Tour guide and our Bus pick you up at your hotel and start to discover Hanoi City 08h45: Arrive at Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. It is the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, built in the 6th century. 09h30: Visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, the final resting place of the Vietnamese great-father or Uncle Ho. You have a chance to see the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh, then walk around the garden to see 2 houses where he lived & worked from 1954 to 1969. Then visit One Pillar Pagoda, where the Goddess of Mercy is—it is the most unique pagoda in the world - Should dress modestly by covering from shoulders to knees when visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, temples, pagodas… - Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays. But can still take a picture of the Mausoleum and visit around that area - Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is closed at least 2 months (15th June - 15th August) for the annual maintenance. 11h15: Visit the Vietnam Ethnology Museum to learn about the culture of 54 ethnic groups living in the whole country of Vietnam. Special Note: We will visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum instead of the Vietnam Ethnology Museum closed on Mondays 12h45: Have lunch at our restaurant. You have an opportunity to enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. Vegetarian foods are available 14h00-14h15: Continue to visit the Temple of Literature—the first university of Vietnam. The Temple of Literature (Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam) is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Northern Vietnam. The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070. 15h15: Keep going to visit Hoa Lo Prison. The prison was built by the French from 1886 to 1901, when Vietnam was still a part of French Indochina. The French called the prison Maison Centrale. The prison was called “A Hell on Earth,” and now the prison is like a war museum for those who want to understand more about the war against France of the Vietnamese people. 16h30: Our bus takes you back to the hotel. Day 8 Hanoi - Halong Bay (B/L/D) (shared cruise) Halong Bay is a natural wonder of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, and once you arrive there, you will understand why. Get ready to be amazed by the world's most breathtaking views, and have a relaxing time on the cruise, enjoying the exciting activities we have prepared for you. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave Hanoi for Halong Bay. The cruise team will meet you at the hotel lobby between 8:00-9:00 am (we will confirm the exact time the day before the tour). Arrive at the jetty around noon and take a boat to the cruise. After a welcome onboard and check-in, lunch will be served while the cruise is making its way through the hundreds of islets. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities such as swimming and kayaking or visiting caves (depending on each boat’s itinerary), or just spend relaxing time on board. Towards the end of the day, the boat sets anchor for the night in a beautiful place, so don't miss the sunset before having dinner.
