  1. Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya.

        Kelani Temple is located about 11 kilometers from Colombo. This temple is located on the banks of the Kelani River. It is famous all over the world as a very sacred and beautiful temple. The history of Kelani Temple dates back to about 500 BC. When the Lord Buddha came to Sri Lanka 8 years after his enlightenment, he delivered a sermon at the place where the Kalani Temple was located. History books state that a gem chair was placed at the place where the sermon was held, and a stupa was built, and this temple was built. Then, during the Portuguese period, they destroyed many of the buildings in the Kelani Temple and occupied the land. History books state that the Dutch came and returned the land they had taken to the Kelani Temple. Later, during British rule, the Kelani Temple was renovated in the early 20th century with the help of Helena Wijewardena Lamatheni. Many tourists also come to see the Kelani Duruthu Maha Perahera and the paintings painted by the artist Solius Mendis at the Kelani Temple.

  1. Maligatenna Cave Temple. 

        The history of Maligathenna Cave Temple, located in the Gampaha District, spans from the 4th century BC to the 11th century AD. This ancient cave temple has many ruins of historical and archaeological importance, such as Brahmi rock inscriptions, intricate carvings, an ancient rock pool, and a Bodhi tree that is more than a century old. Maligathenna Cave Temple has been designated as an archaeologically protected site by the government. This unique place is a must-see.      

  1. Henarathgoda Botanical Garden.

         Henarathgoda Botanical Garden is a beautiful place located in the Gampaha District. It was opened to the public in 1826. It is located about 450 meters from the Gampaha Railway Station. It also has an area of 43 acres. The specialty of this place is that the oldest rubber tree in Sri Lanka has been planted in the Henarathgoda Gampaha Botanical Garden. There are several gardens here, such as the Japanese Garden, the Orchid Garden, the Rose Garden, and the Children's Garden. It is also possible to do activities such as swan boats. It opens at 7.30 in the morning and is open to the public until 6 in the evening.

  1. Horagolla National Park. 

        Horagolla National Park is located in the Gampaha District of Sri Lanka. Compared to other national parks in Sri Lanka, this park is a very small park. It covers an area of 33 acres. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary by the then government on 5th October 1973. The park is home to 10 species of mammals, 64 species of birds, 7 species of fish, and 28 species of butterflies. The orb weaver spider is also found here. If you are a nature lover, you should visit this place.

  1. Browns Beach, Negambo.

        Brown Beach in Negombo is a popular destination for locals and tourists. This beach offers recreational activities such as swimming in the calm waters, jet skiing, banana boat rides, windsurfing, and paddleboarding. It is a golden sandy beach and is the perfect place to relax and watch the stunning sunrise and sunset. You can also enjoy delicious seafood at the various restaurants and cafes located near this beach.
